While Nintendo 3DS owners will be able to play with Super Smash Bros. some time next month, how about those of you who are rocking to a dedicated home console like the Wii U that cannot be carried around anywhere and everywhere you like? Well, there is a very high possibility that you might just have to wait for a little while longer, if this particular tweet eventually proves it’s worth. A snapshot of cards that were printed by the Pacific Northwest mega-mart Fred Meyer, which were then handed out for pre-orders of the game for the Wii U, claims that November 21st will be the launch date of Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U.
Super Smash Bros. already arrived on the Nintendo 3DS in Japan last week, and it will hit the West this coming October 3rd, although the demo of the game is up on the eStore when this coming Friday rolls around. So far, there has been no formal launch date for the version of the game for the Wii U, as the U.S. homepage for the game’s official site points to a vague “Holiday 2014” timeframe.
There is a possibility that this retailer’s listing is an error, although it would be a pretty big gaffe if it were this time around considering how cards had already been printed and passed out. Still, if history were to be of any future indication, Nintendo tends to introduce highly anticipated games on Friday – maybe to let you spend the entire weekend after glued to your console and TV.
