Heads up Pebble owners, if you also happen to own an iOS device and have recently updated your device to iOS 8, you might be interested to learn that Pebble has recently announced that they have released the Pebble firmware 2.5 update for their smartwatch. This update will bring about several new features, one of them being iOS 8 compatibility.
Apart from iOS 8 compatibility, which could be important for those who have updated their iOS devices, the firmware 2.5 update will also bring about support for Emoji. Yes, you read that right, if you wouldn’t mind seeing Emojis being displayed on your Pebble smartwatch, then version 2.5 will allow just that as you can see in the photo above.
Of course given Pebble’s monochrome display you won’t be seeing the Emojis displayed in color, but we guess for now that will be good enough. The update will also introduce a compass feature, thanks to Pebble opening up its magnetometer’s SDK. This allows developers to build compass-style apps and as it stands, there are a couple that you can choose from already.
Last but not least, Pebble has also brought back the DOMO watch face, thanks to a partnership with Big Tent Entertainment. DOMO will have a bunch of different animations depending on how you interact with your watch. So if you haven’t already down so, go ahead and download firmware 2.5 if you want to get in on these new features!
