Drinking and driving are definite no-nos, and if you so happen to want to paint the town red on that particular weekend, then you might want to have a designated driver on hand – or at least a few phone numbers of cabs that you can call once the partying is over. Having said that, wearable technology might help usher in a new age of more health conscious individuals, and with Metamorphosis, an experimental wearable, the day and age of such an era might arrive sooner rather than later.
Metamorphosis will be able to respond to the wearer’s level of alcohol consumption, where it has been specially designed with pleated origami sleeves. These pleated origami sleeves will be able to expand and contract, as it reflects the drinker’s confidence levels as he or she consumes alcohol. In a nutshell, the more alcohol that one consumes, the higher the sleeves will go, puffing up like a peacock strutting its feathered glory. Of course, it indirectly informs the rest of the world just how fast someone has consumed alcohol as well as one’s intoxication levels.
I do expect devices like the Apple Watch to come up with some sort of alcohol level app some time down the road in order to keep in line with its aim of helping folks live a healthier life.
