moto-x-review-06It was close to a month ago that we brought you word on how a customer representative from Motorola “confirmed” that the Moto X will be on the receiving end of the Android L update. Well, until an official announcement is made, one might run the risk of speaking from the perspective of fake leaked information, as with the case of the fake Motorola Germany Facebook post. It is all bridge under the water now, as it seems that another “confirmation” of Android L arriving on the Moto X has surfaced.

First of all, some ground rules would need to be laid down – and we do know that Google has mentioned before that in order for manufacturers to obtain access to the Google Apps suite and Google Play services, they will need to update their respective handsets to the most recent version of Android which has been released within 18 months of a particular model.

Since the Moto X is more or less a year old in the smartphone market, it goes without saying that the Moto X will be taking the Android L route, where Android L is tipped for an October or November roll out later this year. Google+ user Josh B. sent out a feeler question to the Moto X community on G+, asking whether the Android L update will be arriving, and VP of Product Management at Motorola, Punit Soni, confirmed the impending arrival of Android L on the Moto X.
