Its not surprising to see clones of popular smartphones coming out of China, and recently we have seen such clones popping up even before the legitimate smartphones have been announced. Goophone, a company that already has iPhone clones to its name, has now developed a clone for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. Samsung is going to announce the upcoming flagship next month but the Goophone N4 has already been revealed in China.
As is the case with clones, the specifications are not what one would expect from a high-end smartphone by a company like Samsung. The Goophone N4 has a MediaTek MT6592 1.7GHz octacore processor with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage, there’s also a 13 megapixel rear and 5 megapixel front camera. A 3,200mAh battery provides all the juice for this device which has a 5.7-inch 1920×1080 pixel resolution display.
On the other hand the Galaxy Note 4 is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor with 4GB of RAM. It is also expected to have a 5.7-inch Quad HD display apart from a fingerprint sensor and heart rate monitor. Full specifications of this device will surface when Samsung officially makes the announcement next month.
By that time the Goophone N4 will hit shops in China. Clones might be a good way to get a device that only looks like the one you really want, but on sheer user experience, they’ll always fall behind.
