Facebook has come under scrutiny in the news yet again, having introduced a new update to the Facebook Messenger for Windows Phone app. In this latest version of Facebook Messenger for Windows Phone, new features have been thrown into the mix, not to mention seeing the version number bumped up all the way to 6.0.
At the moment, Facebook users on the Windows Phone platform have a couple of ways to carry out a conversation with their other friends on Facebook – that is, to access Facebook directly from the browser itself, or to make use of the dedicated Facebook Messenger app. Those who opt for the latter will be pleased with the latest update, where it will now offer the option to send images and videos to others on your contact list with but a single tap. This feature is not new at all, since it has been introduced in the iPhone version earlier this April.
As for the remaining changes, those will include the introduction of the most recent stickers as well as performance updates that remain exclusive to the Windows Phone operating system. It is nice to see Facebook do their bit to ensure that the features in Facebook Messenger on other mobile platforms will also be found on Windows Phone, and that is always a good thing – uniformity in the right places.
