We’re sure Windows Phone users are eager to get their hands on Cortana and take it for a spin. After all given the demos we’ve seen, not to mention the pretty amazing accuracy with her predictions for the World Cup 2014, many are curious as to how Cortana will actually handle in real life. Will it end up being a success or a dud? We guess that will remain to be seen.
However the good news is that according to @ThatMicrosoftGuy, a Microsoft employee who is reportedly working on Cortana, users can look forward to Cortana being enabled on their phones as soon as Microsoft flips the switch. This means that users won’t have to wait to download an update to enable it since all of it is controlled from the cloud anyway.
In fact we’ve seen this happen before. A previous report had revealed that Microsoft had quietly made changes to Cortana without issuing an update to users. This is actually pretty neat since it does not require the user to download files, and also means that Microsoft can keep making changes and improvements behind the scenes without troubling its users.
Last we heard, Microsoft had a lofty goal of updating Cortana at least twice a month. In any case Microsoft expects to roll out the Cortana Developer Preview for the UK in the next couple of weeks, so those living in the UK shouldn’t have to wait too long to start using the voice assistant feature!
