The Nokia X series of Android smartphones were unveiled earlier this year at MWC 2014. These weren’t exactly the most powerful of Android smartphones. In fact they could be considered low-end Android devices, but perhaps the Nokia X series was created just to show that Nokia could build Android devices if they wanted to, and build Android devices they did!
That being said, could a successor to the Nokia X be in the pipeline? Well that seems to be the general consensus, thanks to a teaser image which Nokia recently uploaded onto its website. The image doesn’t show us much, but according to the title of the post, it reads, “Green With Envy”. Given that the Nokia X was teased in similar fashion and with the same colors, some believe that this could be the Nokia X’s successor.
The website also shows a countdown timer which at this time of posting, is a little under 4 days before all is revealed. Now we should note that there have been Nokia X2 related rumors going on for a while now. One of the slightly more far-fetched rumors included the ability for the phone to dual boot both Android and Windows Phone.
Other rumors include an alleged benchmark sighting which revealed the phone’s specs. This included a Qualcomm MSM8210 1.2GHz processor with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of onboard storage, making the handset more akin to the entry-level Moto E than a high-end Android handset. In any case with only 4 days to go, we guess we’ll find out more next week, so check back with us then for the details! In the meantime what do you guys think Nokia could be teasing?
