Earlier this year, we did bring you word on the release of the Gigabyte BRIX Gaming DIY PC Kit, where that particular model came with an AMD A8 processor alongside a Radeon R9 graphics chipset, all of it crammed into a chassis that was phenomenally tiny at a mere 5″ x 4.3″ x 2.3″. Of course, there was a Brix Pro kit as well that sported a different hardware configuration, but we would like to draw your attention to the former, since it has now received updated hardware in the form of an Intel Haswell CPU and NVIDIA graphics.
Underneath the hood, you will be able to find an Intel Core i5-4200H processor alongside an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 graphics card as expected. In fact, Gigabyte is working hard behind the scenes in order to deliver a model that will run on an Intel Core i7 processor later this coming August.
Of course, you can tell by the hardware specifications alone that the BRIX Gaming machine is not going to be the most powerful PC on the market, but it does pack enough punch to handle 4K video playback as well as 3D games decently. This new BRIX Gaming GB-BXi5G-760 system will be sold in the form of a barebones device, where you will need to throw in the memory and storage space yourself, making it a good starting point for those who would like a custom-built PC.
