If you felt that Facebook Messenger lacked certain sharing features in multimedia, you might be pleased to learn that Facebook has since issued an update to their Messenger app, bumping it to version 5.0. According to the changelog, the latest update will allow users to send video direct from your gallery, as well as play them from the app itself.
However Facebook notes that this will require devices running Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and above, so if you have an older Facebook Messenger build, well then you’d be out of luck, although Facebook notes that they are working on try and bring it onto as many phones as possible. The update will also introduce instant photo sharing and sticker shortcuts, where you’d just have to tap the sticker in order to get the pack yourself.
It will also introduce bigger thumbs-up in the chats, which could be a fun update for those who tend to use the thumbs-up feature quite often. The app has been updated for both the iOS and Android versions, so if you have yet to get your hands on the latest version of Messenger, you can head on over to either the iTunes App Store or the Google Play Store for the download. The Windows Phone version was updated last week.
