Just last week at Google I/O, Google unveiled Android TV. For those who missed our coverage from before, Android TV is essentially Google’s way of making developing apps for smart TVs a lot easier and straightforward. In some ways they are trying to make developing for TV as simple as it is to develop for smartphones and tablets.
Now one of the cool features of Android TV is that it allows gamers to mirror games on their Android devices and play it on their TV screen. However it seems that Google has bigger plans than just mirroring, because according to renders discovered in the Android L Developer Preview by redditor bedofgoatturds, a rendering of the game controller has surfaced.
In fact this has been confirmed by Android Police’s Artem Russakovskii in a Google+ post that revealed the controller as well. Like we said earlier, Android TV will allow the mirroring of games, and to control those games on your TV, we guess the controller will be one of the options. So far we have to admit that the controller looks pretty good.
It looks sleek and well-designed, although we guess we will have to take it for a spin ourselves to see just how well it handles in real life. As you might have heard, Razer will be one of the companies that will be rolling out an Android TV micro-console later this fall and will be competing against the likes of the Amazon Fire TV which will run on a forked version of Android. In the meantime what do you guys think? Are you digging the controller’s design?
