It does seem as though Google has finally taken the step to join Instagram officially, opening up their account by talking about the new Rubik’s Cube doodle on Google in order to celebrate the anniversary of this unique puzzle game that has enthralled the masses over the decades. Basically, if you happen to have an Instagram account, then following Google might be a good idea.
It remains to be seen as to what Google will do with their Instagram account – will it be more for marketing purposes, or will it be used as a platform to disseminate important information from time to time? Just how active will such a page be anyways? Right now as at press time, Google’s Instagram account has already amassed 20,268 followers, while following YouTube, Google Glass and Google Maps.
Apart from that, its bio tagline reads, “Google unfiltered—sometimes with filters.” Pretty interesting wordplay done over there, don’t you think so? Chances are that in due time, Google would do something fun by putting up cute and interesting images as well as clips that Google or Android fans would appreciate. Having said that, what took Google so long to jump aboard the Instagram bandwagon? Ah well, I suppose better late than never applies here.
