Back in 2013, Vivo unveiled the Xplay 3S which is the first Android smartphone to ever pack a QHD display. Safe to say that this was a technological achievement by Vivo, a company that was relatively unknown until recently.
Now apart from the amazing display, the handset also came with some pretty impressive hardware specs as well but it looks like Vivo is eager to beat itself to the punch. According to a recent teaser released by the company, it seems that they have a new flagship smartphone in the works that will be ever-so slightly better than its predecessor.
According to the teaser image to the right, the company is boasting that its upcoming flagship phone will sport 3GB of RAM (which is the same amount of RAM as the current Xplay 3S) and will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 MSM8974-AC chipset, versus the Snapdragon 800 chipset found in the Vivo Xplay 3S.
Apart from that, the company also uses words like “discover, record, change” which has some speculating that it could do with an improved camera or something along those lines. There has also been talks about the ultimate HiFi experience suggesting that Vivo could be upgrading the phone’s audio quality.
Unfortunately no word on what sort of display the upcoming Vivo phone will pack but presumably it will be the same QHD display found on the Xplay 3S, which admittedly was the feature that managed to garner it a lot of attention. In any case hopefully more details will be revealed in the near future but in the meantime who else is excited to see what kind of new phone Vivo has in store for us?
