The slimmer version of the PS Vita that will also sport a brighter display has already been making waves in the Japanese and European game markets for a fair number of months, while folks living in the US had to make do with the original. It seems that this is about to change, as Sony has confirmed that folks in the US will be able to pick up the new and improved Sony PS Vita this May 6th, where it will arrive in a bundle that will be accompanied by a digital copy of Borderlands 2 as well as an 8GB memory card to help you get started right out of the box.
It has been a long time in coming, that is all that I can say about the situation. After all, the improved battery life is always more than welcome, especially when you are talking to a gamer who wants to get a spot of gaming in on the move. Do bear in mind that the redesigned PS Vita model will make use of an LCD screen instead of the original OLED screen, so while it might be brighter, some of the colors could end up looking less vivid. It does seem as though the bundle will feature the black PS Vita, so those who want a different color will have to make do without one for now. [Press Release]
