So it is more or less common knowledge by now that Microsoft will be releasing Windows Phone 8.1 to Windows Phone users in the near future. When exactly will this update be rolled out remains to be seen, but in the meantime it has been suggested that perhaps we might be getting pretty close to the release.
This is according to a recent sighting on Microsoft’s Windows Phone website where as you can see in the image above, Microsoft has made an official reference to Windows Phone 8.1, although this by no means confirms when the update will be released, but we reckon if Microsoft is already putting it on their website, they should be pretty close.
There are some who speculate that the update could be announced/released during the Microsoft BUILD conference which will be taking place from the 2nd to the 4th of April, so do check back with us then if Windows Phone 8.1 is something you’re looking forward to.
Windows Phone 8.1, for those who haven’t been following the news, is the latest update Microsoft will be bringing to its Windows Phone platform. Based on leaked information that we’ve come across so far, there appears to be a handful of changes and new features that Microsoft will be introducing to the operating system. Some of it includes support for removable USB flash drives, while other reports claim that Microsoft will be introducing a voice assistant feature of their own dubbed Cortana.
In any case none of this has been confirmed yet but with April the 2nd only a couple of weeks away, we guess we won’t have to wait too long to find out if any of these reports have any truth to them, so do check back with us then for the details.
