Back in 2012, HTC released a handful of Windows Phone handsets, like the HTC 8X. In fact their colorful design reminded us of Nokia’s own Lumia lineup, but that’s a story for another time. That being said, HTC has been relatively quiet on the Windows Phone front ever since, but the company is hoping that will change this year.
This was confirmed by HTC America President, Jason Mackenzie, who promised that HTC will be bringing more Windows Phone handsets to the market later this year.
Unfortunately Mackenzie did not dive into any details surrounding the handsets, like what sort of specs we can expect, how it would look like, and more importantly when exactly will we be able to learn more about the.
However he did reassure HTC users that the company will be continuing their partnership with Microsoft, as evidenced when Microsoft revealed their new (and existing) list of Windows Phone partners.
In fact in 2013, save for Nokia, Microsoft’s Windows Phone partners were relatively silent. Samsung is rumored to be working on a Windows Phone handset as well which we might see later this year, so it looks like Windows Phone users could be spoilt for choice this time around.
