However it seems that unlike previous celebrity endorsements, Kutcher’s role at Lenovo is more than just providing them with a pretty face. In fact just last year Kutcher reportedly helped the company with the design of the Yoga tablet, and it seems that in 2014, he is set to help Lenovo design even more products, smartphones to be exact.
According to Lenovo’s Chief Marketing Officer David Roman, Kutcher will be designing a line of special-edition smartphones that will be launched later this year. We’re not sure what kind of phones they will be, but for those planning on picking up one of these phones, you can rest assured knowing that the user experience will be designed by Kutcher.
In an interview with Re/code, Roman was quoted as saying, “I know on one level, it sounds corny, but it is real. He not only sees himself as an engineer, but he is an engineer. If he sees a problem, he wants to solve it.”
While Kutcher might not necessarily have a design background or has won awards for his designs unlike Apple’s Jonny Ive, it will still be interesting to see what will result from this. Who else can’t wait to see what kind of phones Kutcher will come up with?
