Based on what we have been hearing recently, it would seem that Microsoft’s recently launched next-gen console, the Xbox One, is quite the success. The console has managed to sell 1 million units in 24 hours and appeared to beat out Sony’s PlayStation 4 during Black Friday sales as well. To that extent Microsoft has announced via their Xbox website that the Xbox One has seen overwhelming demand, accompanied by the infographic above which basically shows the stats of gamers who have been playing the various games on the Xbox One so far, which we have to be honest seems pretty cool. 3 billion zombies, who would have thought gamers would have racked up that many kills in such a short period of time, right?
According to Yusuf Mehdi, the corporate vice president of strategy and marketing for the Xbox, “Eleven days in we are seeing record breaking sales and are selling every Xbox One we can make. Demand is far exceeding supply in the 13 countries we’ve launched and we are sold out at retailers around the world. We are seeing incredible usage from our engaged fans who have purchased Xbox One with more than 50 million hours spent on Xbox One games and entertainment.” As it stands both the Xbox One and PS4 are duking it out for the number one spot, with either console gaining ground in some markets.
