It seems that Taiwanese mobile chipset manufacturer MediaTek has been hard at work on what they have deemed as the first true 8-core processor in the world for the past few months, and it seems that the first slew of devices with the actual processor within is right around the corner. There are whispers around that at least one Chinese smartphone manufacturer might actually roll out a handset that will carry the MediaTek MT6592 processor before the year is over. All of that speculation will now arrive to a close, since Zopo has announced that November 21st will be the day where their Zopo 8-core smartphone will hit the streets.
There is no other name where the smartphone is known as at the moment, and neither do we have word on the rest of the hardware specifications that this Zopo smartphone will carry, but we do know that Zopo has already set aside 5,000 units of this puppy to cater for international orders. I guess this translates to good news for those who live elsewhere other than China, right? Hopefully pricing details as well as the rest of the hardware specifications will be revealed to the masses in due time, sooner rather than later. Perhaps visiting their Facebook page or forum might yield some details in the days to come.
