November is finally here and enthusiastic gamers around the world are waiting on Microsoft to release its next generation console, the Xbox One. Much has already been written and read about the console, the hype has certainly not died down up till now. This is the first console from Microsoft to have a Blu-ray player built-in, but its going to be of no use to people who want to play 3D Blu-rays, at least initially. Microsoft has confirmed to CNET that at launch, the console is not going to support 3D Blu-ray disc playback.

Though Microsoft hasn’t said if its never going to add this feature. There exists the possibility that support for 3D Blu-ray playback may be added in the future. Sony allows both 3D games and 3D Blu-ray movies on the PS3, but it hasn’t clarified as yet if the PS4 is able to do this as well. Sony’s official FAQ page for the PS4 says that the console is capable of supporting 3D games, but no such titles are available at launch. Its too soon to say how much time Microsoft will take before finally allowing the playback of 3D Blu-rays on the Xbox One. The Xbox One launches November 22nd in the U.S.
