Pantech, the third largest manufacturer in Korea after Samsung and LG, was supposed to announce its new phablet today, and it has. The Pantech Vega Secret Note is now official, the device touts impressive specifications and a number of interesting features. The phablet has a 5.9 inch full 1080p HD display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quadcore processor aided by 3GB of RAM, same as the Galaxy Note 3 by rival Samsung. It has a 13 megapixel rear camera and a 2 megapixel one up front for your selfie needs. There’s 32GB of onboard storage with USB host support. It also has stylus support, the stylus is tucked into the device and is called the V Pen.
Vega Secret Note has number of privacy and security features as well. It has a fingerprint scanner on the back which serves as an easy way to lock and unlock the device. The scanner can also be used to show hidden data such as photos, videos, music, contacts and more. The phablet also has LTE-A support, though it’ll only be useful in markets where mobile carriers are offering LTE-Advanced services. No word as yet on availability, it remains to be seen if Pantech will ship the device outside of Asia. In Korea the Pantech Secret Note is said to cost 900,000 won, which amounts to approximately $840.
