We’ve heard quite a few rumors about an upcoming mid-range Android device from HTC. It is known as the HTC Zara right now, the device is reportedly made from plastic. It is expected to be released in the fourth quarter of 2013. A new rumor claims that the Zara will actually be called HTC Desire 601. It is not known right now when HTC will officially launch this device. In the U.S., it is rumored that Sprint will carry the Zara or Desire 601.
It is believed that the Desire 601 might be announced alongside the HTC Zara Mini, which been recently been making rounds in the rumor mill. HTC already sells the Desire 600, which has dual-SIM support and a 4.5 inch qHD display. The Desire 601 or Zara is also said to have a 4.5 inch qHD display. The rumored specifications include a 1.2GHz dualcore Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus processor coupled with 1GB of RAM, 8GB internal memory, 8 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, Beats Audio, a 2,100mAh battery and Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with HTC Sense 5.5. External memory expansion through microSD cards is also said to be possible on the HTC Desire 601. The company itself hasn’t confirmed this smartphone just yet, so we can’t be really sure about the moniker, even if it comes from a credible source like @evleaks.
