Rumor has it that HTC might use this material for its smartphones before Apple does, with a device expected to be released later this year.
The rumor comes from trade publication Digitimes, famous for its hit and miss rumors. Apparently HTC has partnered with Jabon International, which is a chassis maker based in Taiwan as well. HTC has also reportedly brought in a research and development team from Japan for assistance. A liquidmetal HTC smartphone is rumored to be released in the second half of 2013. No additional details about this device are available right now, so its best to take this information with a grain of salt.
