Just the other day we reported that according to a HTC official, it was revealed that the HTC One managed to sell 5 million units which we have to say is a pretty decent figure considering that the HTC One faced some delays at the start. However as it turns out, that 5 million number might not be so official after all. According to the folks at ePrice, it seems that they have received word from a HTC spokesperson who denied the figure. According to the spokesperson, they were quoted as saying, “That number comes from the same unnamed source that is referenced throughout the WSJ article. Unfortunately, that isn’t an official figure.”
We’re not sure what this means: could it be that the HTC One actually sold more than 5 million, or might it be that the HTC One did not sell as many as the figure had implied, and did worse than expected? We guess only the people at HTC know those figures but for now, it looks like they are keeping mum on that. In any case the HTC One is a pretty decent handset and we would actually be surprised if it did not do as well as many had thought it would.
