Sony Mobile certainly seems as though they are cranking up the smartphone manufacturing line, as more and more models seem to pop out from nowhere. The thing is, it does look like they want to take the same road that Samsung did, aiming for the entire market spectrum, ranging from the entry level to the mid-range, and then the high-end side of things. Of course, Samsung has more or less done so to great effect, and perhaps Sony might want to work on keeping things simple in terms of naming convention, instead of lumping everything under the Xperia name.

Well, the Sony Xperia L does look as though it is going to firmly entrench itself in the mid-range smartphone market, offering specifications that are functional, but do not wow in any way. Codenamed TaoShan, the Xperia L apparently comes with a 4.3-inch touchscreen display at 480×854 resolution, where it is accompanied by a 1GHz dual-core Qualcomm processor with Adreno 305 graphics, an 8-megapixel Exmor RS camera, 8GB of internal memory, a microSD memory card slot, and a 1,700 mAh battery to keep things running fine and dandy. Word has it that Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean will be the operating system of choice, where it will also carry the model number C210X.
