With two iterations of the HTC Titan series, we wouldn’t be surprised if a HTC Titan III was in the works and that might have been confirmed by Microsoft. In a recent Xbox Live Rewards survey, it was asked of customers how excited they would be if they were to receive the following smartphones as a gift – the iPhone 5, Motorola Droid RAZR Maxx HD, Nokia Lumia 920, the Samsung Galaxy S3 or the HTC Titan III. As you can see in the screenshot above, it clearly states the III, not the II. Of course there is the possibility that whoever wrote the survey might have made a typo and added the extra “I”, but rumors awhile back indicated that HTC had a 4.7” WP in the works under the codename “Zenith” which apparently never made it out of the cutting room.
Perhaps HTC went back to the board with the handset, or like we said before, it could be a mere typo, but with CES 2013 in a month’s time and MWC 2013 to follow the month after, we wouldn’t be surprised if HTC had something up their sleeves. However with the release of the HTC Windows Phone 8X which is presumably HTC’s flagship WP8 handset, would the Titan III steal the spotlight away from it? We won’t read too much into this for now, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled nonetheless, so check back with us later for the details!

Update – As it turns it out this was indeed a typo and the error has since been fixed. Looks like there’s no HTC Titan III – at least for now.
