If you’re wondering what Toshiba has up its sleeve when Windows 8 drops later this year, the answer could be in some recently granted patents. According to the folks at Patent Bolt, Toshiba has some designs for a laptop that features cellular connectivity and a built-in stylus holder. With Windows 8 supporting digital pen input and touchscreens, it’s not hard to put two and two together. However, whether this becomes an actual product, that’s yet to be seen – after all we know that companies who are granted patents don’t necessarily turn them into real products.
The notebook is said to be able to make use of 3G or 4G cellular data networks, built-in GPS, stylus support when the notebook is in tablet mode – sounds like a pretty functional hybrid device, though its weight and battery life are yet to be seen. No word on when or if we’ll see this device go on sale, but we’ll just have to wait and see.
