If you’ve ever experienced the convenience of iMessage on a Mac computer and your iOS devices, and wished that you had it on your non-Mac and non-iOS device you’re in luck; this is where mysms comes in. Launched earlier this year in Europe and now available worldwide, mysms is a service that allows users to create, send and receive text messages on any device. In addition to syncing your text messages across all your different devices, it allows you to send free text messages worldwide to other mysms users as well.
Also, what’s great about mysms is that it doesn’t use any proprietary messaging formats which means you’ll be able to send messages to people who don’t even use the mysms app. The app is available free now for iOS, and Android devices, Mac, Windows, Facebook, Chrome, and as HTML app. Windows Phone availability is expected in Q3 2012. No word on whether the app will be available on BlackBerry devices, but I guess BB users should keep their fingers crossed. I haven’t given mysms a go yet but the concept sounds pretty good to me.
