It seems that there is a bunch of folks out there who are rocking to the latest version of Google Chrome on Windows 7 on the computer, and for a period of time, they were redirected to a blank page for approximately 50% of the time. This has happened whenever you type keywords into the URK bar of the Chrome web browser, and it seems that this issue has already appeared as an active threat on the Chrome Product Forum. It does not seem to discriminate against Mac or PC users – parties on both platforms are affected.
No idea on what the exact problem is that has resulted in this particular situation, but we do know that a handful of Google Chrome have already reported that searches from the omnibox/address bar will send you to Timbuktu – that is, nowhere geographically. Hopefully folks from Timbuktu won’t end up stoning me or something. Is there a way to fix it? Apparently, as all you need to do is enter the Settings menu, pick “Manage Search Engines”, throw in a spanking new search engine with the URL http://www.google.com/search?q=%s, although you can call it anything, and make it your default.
