After an announcement way back in January last year that Nintendo would not be phasing out its DSi consoles anytime soon, it seems that the company has stuck to its guns and have decided to implement another method to garner more sales of the product. Nintendo of America has apparently just announced new lower prices for its DSi and DSi XL consoles. The change will be in effect starting on the 20th of May and it is as follows. The DSi console will cost $99.99 which is down from $149.99 while the DSi XL will cost $129.99, down from $169.99. As for the Nintendo 3DS, it will remain at $169.99. If you have been looking to pick up a DSi or DSi XL, this might be your chance. As Nintendo claims, with graduations looming, Father’s Day approaching and the start of the summer travel season imminent, the new suggested retail prices appeal to all kinds of shoppers. What do you think about the drop in price? Will you be standing in line for either the DSi or the DSi XL?
