We’ve talked about the BabyPing system which turns either your iPad, iPod Touch or iPhone into a baby monitor before. The system was designed to ensure the safety and the well-being of your infant while they soundly sleep. According to BabyPing, it is “the first device to offer a truly reassuring alternative to old-style monitors by using the latest in modern, safe technology to keep parents constantly informed” through its usage of a Wi-Fi network along with infrared night vision.

The device will come with a free iOS monitoring application which offers a plethora of security and safety features including double-layer security and alerts to inform users if the baby cries, if the Wi-Fi connection has been broken or even if your iOS device is out of range. We already know that users will be able to monitor their beloved children through a full-color video at a resolution of 640 x 480, a built-in microphone and “superfast wireless Wi-Fi”. With that said however, we didn’t know when the product would be hitting retailers.

Now apparently, that has changed, the company has just launched the device in the UK and it is retailing at £165 ($259). If you get it from certain etail and retail partners, you will be privileged to a discounted introductory offer price of £149.99 ($235). BabyPing has also just informed us that if you are looking to purchase this for your own baby, it will be hitting the US market sometime in late June. For now, there has been no announcement with regards to its pricing but it should be somewhere along the same lines as the UK prices.
