20 year old Kentucky coal miner was arrested this week after he allegedly siphoned gasoline from a police car and thought it would be funny to put the photo up on Facebook. In the photo, he is holding the hose in one hand and flipping off the camera which was held by his girlfriend, Joan Sandlin with the other. He was charged with theft by unlawful taking and spent the night in the county lockup and yet he still maintains that it was just a joke. Baker said that he and his girlfriend were bored on March 1 and were just standing there when they thought it would be a good idea to prank the police, take the allegedly funny picture and post in on their Facebook page.
After posting the picture, Sandlin watched as it spread like wildfire and eventually ended up in the hands of the local police department. Jenkins Police Chief Allen Bormes who didn’t think that the couple was even remotely hilarious said, “If they’re going to do it to a police car, they’re going to do it to just about anybody.” After Baker’s release yesterday, he took to Facebook immediately and posted up a status which said, “lol I went too (sic) jail over facebook, it was funny as hell tho.” After the petrol-related antics, Jenkin County Police are reported to be seriously considering lockable gas caps on their cruisers.
