If you consider yourself to be a germophobe that insists on cleaning their hands with hand sanitizers every time you touch a foreign object, then this portable water and surface sanitizer might be worth investing in, which as the name implies, is a portable sanitizer that allows you to purify water from questionable sources (i.e. when traveling to foreign countries or if camping out in the wild) and surfaces for $100 and is powered only by a couple of AAA batteries. Talk about convenient, yes?
For those wondering how this will work, well it uses the same technology employed by hospitals through UV-A and UV-C light. This light will allow the scanner to purify two full cups of water in just forty seconds, and on top of just destroying regular germs, it seems that this sanitizer also has the ability to get rid of dangerous microorganisms such as E. coli, Staphylococcus, and Salmonella, and will even come with a LCD screen that will show you a countdown to the “OK” signal to indicate when your water/surface is “clean”.
More information on the portable sanitizer can be found at Hammacher’s website where you will also be able to order one for yourself. So, any takers?
