Gameloft and Sony have collaborated to bring a mobile version of the Men in Black 3 game, ensuring it will launch in conjunction with the movie’s May 2012 debut. So far, my experience tells me that games based on a movie rarely makes more money than the movie itself, and the same applies the other way around. Of course, there are exceptions to the rule as always, but it remains to be seen whether a game, especially on the mobile platform, of Men in Black 3 is able to carry on the on-screen chemistry between Tommy Lee Jones Will Smith can be reproduced on your smartphone or tablet.
Perhaps Gameloft is able to pull something special out of their hat, considering they do have a fair amount of experience in the mobile gaming platform. It would be interesting to see just how everything pans out in the end, and I am quite sure that the movie will still win out in th end. Expect the Men in Black 3 game to be released on iOS, Android devices and feature phones this coming May 25th.
