ACME has just introduced its latest portable workstation known as the ACME PAC-Traveler. Hailing from Germany, you can more or less expect German precision with this series, where it will consist of the LitePAC, DuraPAC, MegaPAC, and NetPAC, making its mark in the mobile server market. Not many out there might be able to identify with this particular feeling where a notebook’s limited performance has made a negative impact in your working life due to the lack of computing power when you needed it most, all in the name of portability. It is a good thing ACME has anticipated this pitfall, and decided to offer you the best of both worlds with the PAC-Traveler series.
Specially designed to cater for travelling engineers and professionals who tend to work away from the standard office setup, albeit requiring additional processing firepower for field applications, the PAC-Traveler will offer both portability and performance without weighing you down too much – to the tune of just 8kgs. This might sound like a ton to folks who carry the MacBook Air, but bear in mind that the PAC-Traveler is packed to the core with processing power, including an Intel Core i7/Xeon CPU, a LED monitor, huge SAS storage capability of up to 16TB, and the options to throw in add-on cards. It will comply to MIL-STD 810F specifications, and runs on either Windows or Linux. [Press Release]
