It’s been a slow news week, but it looks like the folks over at the Verge have managed to land their hands on some exciting information. According to their tipsters, HTC and Samsung are both working on some new LTE-equipped Windows Phone devices. While it’s been previously mentioned that LTE support will come with the Tango update, the phones will come with a pre-Tango version of Windows Phone that supports the 4G network.
HTC’s phone has been codenamed the Radiant and Samsung’s phone has been codenamed Mandel. No word on the specs of the HTC Radiant, but the Samsung Mandel is said to feature a screen larger than the 4.3″ Samsung Focus S. Both of the phones are expected to be launched in early 2012 alongside Nokia’s LTE Windows Phone. Expect to find out more about the LTE devices at CES or Mobile World Congress 2012.
