Every time a new version of Android is released, the developer community never fails to impress us when it comes to porting them onto an ancient device. Case in point? The HTC G1 aka the world’s first commercial Android phone is one of the latest devices to be able to run the latest version of Android, Ice Cream Sandwich.
Now we know that it’s not smooth (at all), nor does it look very usable – but it definitely is running on the device. As usual, some features like WiFi, Bluetooth and rotation isn’t working, but it’s currently in Alpha stages, and will need some time for everything to be worked out. Hopefully they find a way to fix the speeds too.
