To everybody waiting for Google to launch the latest version of Android, the wait is almost over. Ice Cream Sandwich is going to be unveiled at the Samsung Unpacked event next week according to a report from CNET. They visited the official Android Developers YouTube channel (where the Unpacked event is supposed to be streamed live) and noticed a placeholder video named “Android ICS launch” with a countdown in the video box.
And as predicted, at this time of writing, the video countdown is no longer available and has been replaced with a “This live event is no longer available. Sorry about that.” message instead. Fortunately CNET grabbed a screen shot (above) and judging by the remaining time on the countdown – it matches up nicely with the date of the Samsung Unpacked event (where the Nexus Prime/Galaxy Nexus is supposed to make its debut as well). October 11th can’t come soon enough.
