Hercules has just rolled out its DJ Control Steel digital dual mixing deck that is powered via USB, supporting a wide range of audio formats including AIFF, MP3, WAV, WMA, OGG and audio CD. Each purchase will come pre-loaded with the Virtual DJ 5 DJC edition software that enables direct access to iTunes playlists for aspiring DJs to come up with their own beats in a jiffy. The deck itself boasts MIDI control capabilities, alongside two mixing decks with equalizer and volume knobs. Two jog wheels with adjustable resistance also make their presence heard, while you can fiddle with 13 rotary switches and six faders with one general volume fader. Out of 46 pushbuttons, five function to introduce effects while half a dozen of them are kill buttons. This Hercules deck plays nice with Windows XP and Vista 32- and 64-bit, as well as Mac OS X 10.4 and 10.5, and will be available on the 22nd this month under the $300 price point.
