Nowadays folks understand that it’s important to have more than one means to evacuate a building in the event of an emergency, and the Escape Rescue System is one such alternative method. It’s a set of five collapsible cabins, that can be lowered over the side of the building to transport rescue personnel up, helping them enter up to five floors at one go, allowing rescuers to enter the building or evacuees to escape the building via specially configured windows. It’s a pretty nifty solution, allowing a group of people to be transported up or down the building in a quick and simple manner. Do you think such a device will be implemented in the future? Check out a video of it in action after the jump.
