It seems that the Windows Phone 7 Architecture guide has been leaked, and from the architecture guide, some rather juicy information was gleaned. In simple terms, what we’ve found include:
- The phone will be tied quite closely with your Windows Live ID
- You’ll be asked to login at first boot and accept the End-user License Agreement (EULA)
- Hardware needs to be verified though a Genuine Windows Phone certification
- You’ll need a Windows Live ID for contacts sync, Marketplace and use of Microsoft services
- Phone processes are allowed to use up to 1GB of the phone’s RAM
- No support for Bluetooth 3
- OEMs are limited to six pre-installed apps, which can take up to a maximum of 60MB of space
- OEMs aren’t allowed to install trialware
- OEMs are responsible for Direct3D drivers
- OEMs can change the default search engine in Mobile Internet Explorer, but can’t remove Bing as the phone’s default search provider.
- Windows Phone 7 devices will also use the Microsoft Unified Storage System for user files
