While cars look set to remain the personal transport mode of choice for some time to come, Entecho from Australia has released an operating prototype a cylindrical fan-forced flying saucer that is steered by manipulating the downward airflow via a flexible skirt, enabling easy directional control. These blades are not exposed and will move reasonably slow, making it stable in flight. In addition, one will be able to pilot it pretty easily using a joystick controller. We believe in due time the Entecho Hoverpod could be a practical and affordable personal flight solution, although technology will need to advance a fair bit before that becomes reality. We’re all for new modes of transportation as long as they’re efficient and eco-friendly.
